Great experience everyone was lovely, got nicked a couple times but nothing major. Nail techs were patient and re did my design to get it as close to the refrance as posible. Pricing is good, i would recommend

I have been coming here for years and have always had a friendly experience, staff are typically lovely and i've felt like i built a nice relationship with them. However, my recent trip did not reflect this, a new man has started and the moment i sat down i overheard him make a sexist comment, he did my nails and made me feel extremely uncomfortable, i'm not great at confrontation so just laughed most his comments off but now wish i had said something. He was claiming i was now his girlfriend and telling me how beautiful i was and asking me my type in men, all of which i think is rather inappropriate. My nails are also not up to the usual standard, he filed my finger which has left a small but painful cut, he attached the extension onto part of my finger rather than my nail which meant he had to file twice as hard as normal which again, was painful. He didn't ask my preference on length and cut them shorter than i would've liked but it was too late to say anything by this point. He didn't put the acrylic down far enough on my nail either so within a day it already looks like i've had them for a week. My design also doesn't look like my reference photo but by the time he had finished i just wanted to leave so said they were fine and paid for them. This is very unusual for JV and i normally have nothing but good things to say about them, but i don't feel comfortable returning after this.

My technician went above and beyond to complete my set to a satisfactory standard however, as someone who’s come here over the last year and a half, I do think this nail salon is better at more simpler sets.

Before my appointment I did check with the place with exact images of what I wanted to get done and I was assured it can all be done. When most of my nails were done I was told they don’t have a ‘papaya or coconut charm’ when it was a 3D design I wanted not charms, which I specifically asked if could be done beforehand so I could think of a replacement design with time to plan. Additionally my inspiration photo had 3D papaya seeds and my technician followed a tutorial which was different to my inspiration photo and when I pointed it out she said ‘it will be better like this’. Furthermore, they also struggled with the nail art for the Brazil flag (which I assume could’ve been done with a smaller art brush or if the flag had been made bigger - but even if it could not have been I should not of been misled) and I had to just tell the technician to do what she could. Additionally the drill is always set on a high painful setting when most nail technicians from other salons or private nail artists typically ask to ensure the sensitivity level is not painful. Also, my BIAB from this salon has been amazing and grew my nails out quite long, however my vacation required hard gel not BIAB as hard gel strengthens the nail more and makes it less prone to breakage for longer nails, especially for the humid country I was going to, and they didn’t seem to offer that service and told me BIAB would be really good to do for this set but as my nails were quite long they felt really weak and bendy with the BIAB, but I understand they could only offer BIAB and not hard gel so it was the best I could’ve gotten from the salon but in hindsight I should’ve gotten hard gel elsewhere.

Unlike other reviews I never had a negative experience with the workers, they are all so lovely and welcoming as I’ve always known them to be and I’ve had them redo nails several times and they have happily done so to the best of their ability. I usually sit with my partner and we have some lovely conversations and they have been nothing but polite. However, I do think I was misled about their skill set and I would’ve been happier with the set if I was informed that they will try their best rather than a guaranteed yes so I knew what I was getting into. 😊

I’ve left this review after a lot of conversations and enquiry with skilled nail artists just to make sure I do not judge or point blame unfairly. Other than the 4 nails which couldn’t have come out any better on their behalf, the rest were immaculate and the price point is amazing and very fair. Unfortunately there are too many cons for me to return but nonetheless they are a very kind group of people and I’m sure will use this as a learning curve!

Came to the rescue with my bridal nails! They are perfect. I arrived shortly before they were due to close and they stayed after closing to finish my nails. They really took their time and I am so impressed. Highly recommend!

Customer service was good initially, I loved speaking to the nail tech. However, she was quite rough with my nails and hands and even when i was voicing that it hurt she didn’t try to be gentle but said yeah it hurts. No you’re not being gentle. I showed her an inspo pic of stiletto nails and it was going well until she shape then into an almond shape and I had said multiple times it’s not sharp enough and she spend about 40 mins filing my nails when she could have just done what I had asked for initially. I made sure to say before hand I want them very sharp. I left and they weren’t pointy at all. When sticking my tips they were wonky. And I am aware my fingers aren’t fully straight which makes it harder. However I won’t be leaving with my nails facing different directions. She seemed annoyed I had asked her to redo the tips and make sure it’s actually suitable and I felt uncomfortable to speak up. The filing was the most aggressive part, it should not be that intense I was in pain and she couldn’t slow down or be gentle. The design was decent but not as sharp or pretty as I thought. And the worst part is that I have short nails, when I saw the sides of my nails it looked like she had put one layer of acrylic and not sustainable at all. I told her i felt it would break like a carrot stick with the lack of thickness and structure and she we had an argument because she refused to add more acrylic to make sure I was happy but would rather I pay £40 for the base of acrylic she put (litrally nothing) or we finish it and I pay £50. I don’t like leaving without paying and I needed my nails done urgently. But it was so uncomfortable. I shouldn’t have to ask for an apex on my nail especially as my natural nails are thin and the acrylic is long. We went back and forth and it was already getting late I asked her to finish and I’ll pay the £50, but if it breaks I will be coming back. Like I said. One week in it broke, but not the acrylic my natural nail on my pinky and it hurt so badly and bled. I don’t actually want to back in and get it fixed as I don’t want to be handled aggressively again, so I removed them all at home. My natural nail has lifted along w the acrylic and like I told her it would. She insisted it wouldn’t because of my job and my lifestyle, mind you she doesn’t know what I do day to day I thought it was rude to assume.

Overall, I was handled aggressively, felt uncomfortable to speak up, paid £50 and yes I was unhappy, they don’t look sharp like I asked and the design was rushed and you can see that. I have never left a nail salon feeling like I wasted my money and time but for the first time today I have. This isn’t the first bad experience I had at JV, I came in for white square and the man shouted at me that the colour I asked for was white but he put on pearl white not white I asked and showed him. Then my hands n toes didn’t match. This is the last time I’m going here, I gave it two chances now and I understand why social media nail techs are preferred.
