These lovely ladies fit me in last minute. Louisa spent all afternoon on my hair as it was a big job, she was so patient and kind and made sure i loved every step. she was absolutely fabulous and i would recommend her to anyone. a fabulous clean and tidy salon with lovely staff. thank you so much Louisa for everything!!!! see my before and after pictures !

WOW what an amazing salon! I felt like i was having a treatment at a spa rather than a city center salon. Everyone was so friendly and i was offered refreshments throughout my visit which was a lovely touch, nothing was too much trouble. One of those places that is just a nice experience through and through. I wasn't sure what I wanted to begin with but after a consultation and some recommendations I have come out with the best shape and colour I have had for a long time. Thank you so much and I can't wait to come back. Thank you especially to Sam on the front desk for the recommendations of the Kerastase products which i absolutely love. Lovely warm Independent and Family Run business that i can't recommend highly enough :0)

I was saddened to read the review below of Kudos and felt strongly enough compelled to respond with my own experience (I never leave reviews). I have been to Kudos for over a decade and have had nothing but positive experiences, both as as customer and for my hair! I've recommended so many friends over the years who also have had positive experiences. They have looked after me through colour changes, wedding hair, party hair, when I was pregnant, and now entering the world of greys (!). Nothing is too much of a problem for them to accommodate, happily moving appointments when needed, communicating on a personal level, and all staff are so professional, as well as the salon being clean, welcoming and such an enjoyable experience. I know all policies are there to ensure the livelihood of their staff is protected, which is certainly what I'd look for in a small, local business.

Today I fired KUDOS, Goodramgate, York. After experiencing a serious back injury at work resulting in an unavoidable cancellation, I was told with no feeling that due to a short notice cancellation there would be a charge of 50% of a visit, which is approximately £60 WITHOUT ever disclosing this policy to me before. It was a TOTAL surprise. Not only do I consider this 'kicking someone when down', but it highlights their method of operating which is £££. The customer is absolutely in 2nd place. This followed a string of previous disappointments which I'd been patient about, including having unwanted short crops, and being 'stood up' by a stylist who I also fired. She had disappeared when I turned up to a pre booked appt. only to then be blamed by staff for the mistake. THEIR mistake resulted in a costly wasted afternoon plus costs and which I never received an appology for, or compensation.
I ran my own business in London and I'm fully aware of the challenges but my clients were always aware of any boundaries/charges/policy, and discretion was always used in severe situations.
After at least 8 years supporting the salon, their response tells me they do not care. I therefore consider KUDOS opportunistic, gaining from misfortune, greedy, and even admitted once to upselling my husband during his visits to buy gifts. I know that he was referred to as 'a good upsell' after he'd left the salon.
I'm red flagging this salon as unreliable, inconsistent treatments, and a salon to NOT trust financially.
Make sure you PIN DOWN any costs/ intentions / and policy before setting foot through the door... then watch them closely during appts.

Charlotte the woman that you are!! **Chefs Kiss** I had an idea, a lot of words mixed with uncertainty and she knew exactly what I meant! How?? I have been disappointed so many times but various salons that my expectation were in hell but this girly pop turned everything around!! I promise you, you're not going to regret getting a hair cut at this salon. All the staff were extremely welcoming, smiles right from the start! My hair looks so good, the hair cut is so precise and so flattering! Charlotte - just what a girl needs to love her hair again! <33

Just had my first haircut at KUDOS with a wonderful lady Lauren sooo lovely very welcoming very down to earth but wow very knowledgeable & professional we chatted she listened & I felt seen & heard
She gave her opinion on the style that would suit my fine hair I said let’s do it I couldn’t be happier fabulous cut & she waved my hair too I came away feeling 10 years younger with a lovely modern haircut , lady’s of a certain age if you want a change for 2026 don’t wait JUST Do It…! Ring in the new year with a fantastic new hairstyle in a very friendly modern salon
