I’ve been going to Errol Douglas Salon for a while now, and one of the main reasons I keep coming back is Yolanda’s focus on maintaining healthy hair.

What really stands out is how much she prioritises the condition of your hair over everything else. She takes the time to assess what your hair actually needs, whether it’s moisture, strengthening or just a break from too much manipulation.

Yolanda always explains what she’s doing and why which I appreciate and always gives practical advice on how to keep your hair healthy between appointments. Since going to her, I’ve noticed a real difference my hair feels stronger, looks healthier and my curls are easier to manage.

If you’re looking for someone who truly cares about hair health and not just the end result I can’t recommend Yolanda enough.

My sons has been going to Errol Douglas hair salon for more than 10 years and seriously it has been the very best for their hair, no question about that. We travel from Oxford or Paris to the best hair salon. Unfortunately 2 days ago neither Eve or Yolanda were there, so to be on the safe side; I booked a senior that was available , Mustafa, to take care of my son’s highlights, full head. Please look at the photos below, awful. I wanted a refund and never to return but my son, did things his way so he called Errol’s Douglas shop, a receptionist said; he can come tomorrow at 9am but yesterday they made a mistake on the amount he paid which should have been £415 but that my son only was charged £315 so he has to pay the remaining £100.
Which is fare enough but honestly: are they mad? Not only they messed up my son’s gorgeous hair but instead on putting the emphasis on repairing Mustafa’s mistakes ( no blow dry otherwise he would have noticed the stripes, mismatched colour and would have toned it down or do something about it) oh no! They put the emphasis on a miserable £100… what? Every mistake I believe is excusable, we are all humans. Especially since we have been going there for so many years with only excellent results. However, no customers should be made to feel so uncomfortable.
My son will have to drive from Oxford to london, stay in a hotel, in order to be first thing at E D, but all the receptionist cared about is a few pounds? Terrible.

James from Errol Douglas came to The Peninsula to cut my hair — and the experience, start to finish, was exceptional.

We began with a short conversation, just enough for him to get a sense of what I was hoping for. He listened, really listened, and then offered a few observations — about how my hair had been cut previously, how it behaved, how it might grow out. The comments were brief, but insightful. You could tell he was thinking beyond the surface — not just about what would look good that day, but what would make sense in the weeks ahead.

There’s a kind of intelligence in James’s approach that’s hard to come by. He thinks about texture, movement, and the shape it creates around a face. And there’s a generosity to the way he works: collaborative, respectful, quietly confident.

The haircut itself was fabulous — structured yet fluid, flattering without being fussy. It felt like me, but better. Precisely the kind of result that speaks not just to technical skill, but to careful thought.

And beyond all that, James is kind, charismatic, and a genuinely lovely person to spend time with. He brings ease into the room — the conversation flows, the energy is generous, and before you know it, your hair looks better than it has in months.

Amazing experience at Errol Douglas! From the very first moment, the service was exceptional. Yasemin Ozturk, the pedicurist, is fantastic very professional and detail oriented and Nelson, the hairstylist, is simply amazing. He knows exactly what he’s doing and leaves you looking great. But the best part is the atmosphere: you have such a great time with them, they’re super friendly, and time just flies. I would definitely recommend this place to many people. I’ll be coming back for sure!
