Nails look nothing like inspo and cost so much, was told that she couldn’t do my design and did something completely different very disappointed.
Hi, dear. So sorry that our staff didn’t do the nail arts that what you like. Sometime inspo pics are hard to get right. If you not like them then you need to let us know when you in salon, if you are happy to coming back we will fixing this for free, you happy with your nails are imported to us. Thank you
I’ve been a loyal customer at Ming’s Nails for 3 years, but after my most recent experience I won’t be returning. I booked an appointment for 9:30, yet was left sitting for an hour while the 10:00 appointments were served before me. When I explained that I had booked, I was accused of lying – despite showing them the call log from the Friday before. Not once did I receive an apology, and the situation was handled very poorly. In the end I had to walk out. After years of custom, to be treated this way is absolutely appalling.
So sorry this happened, there is definitely something went wrong on that day. Thank you for your patience as always, we have been helpless this time. Sometime we have short staff, but we always try our best to see everyone. Sorry to disappoint you. Have a lovely weekend. Take care
Always nice and friendly when evenever I go. Will always try to fit you in and have a fantastic choice. Xxx
Thank you so much for your kind comments, have a lovely Sunday
What a fantastic place. Went in there last minute today. They were so lovely and nothing was too much. All of the staff were really friendly and couldn’t do enough. Really pleased with my nails, feet, eyebrows and lashes. Thank you so much xx
Thank you so much for your kind words, very appreciated ❤️❤️❤️
I don’t usually write reviews, especially negative ones, but my experience at Ming Nails was so disappointing that I felt compelled to share in the hope of saving others from a similar ordeal.
My friend and I booked in advance on a weekday - it was the only nail shop on Camden Road that wasn’t fully booked, which should have been the first red flag. From the moment we sat down, the atmosphere was unwelcoming. While I understand that everyone has off days, the blunt and dismissive attitude we were met with made us feel like an inconvenience rather than paying customers.
My friend asked for regular polish (not gel), with a long, pointed shape. The technician told her that long nails cost more but refused to say how much, instead seemingly discussing prices in a different language with his colleague - which felt intentionally unclear. Despite our repeated requests for normal polish, we were continuously pressured to get gel.
As I was having my own nails started, the technician left me mid-way (with only the plastic tips glued on) to serve three or four walk-in customers who hadn’t booked (some of whom were very young children). I was completely ignored for the rest of my time in the salon (50-60 minutes).
Meanwhile, my friend was accidentally cut by her nail tech. We know that accidents happen, but what made it worse was the lack of apology or even basic acknowledgment. The nail tech then left her, too, to begin work on a newer walk-in. At this point, both of us were just sitting there, uncomfortable and confused.
Eventually, another technician came over to continue my friend’s nails, only to aggressively push gel polish again, while also pulling my friend’s hands and (rudely) telling my friend to move closer. I had to step in at this point and clearly state, once again, that we did not want gel. Instead of accepting that, the technician became confrontational, warning us that if we got normal polish and it chipped, they wouldn’t fix it if we returned! (I have seen this business’ response to other reviews where they state they will fix any issues within a week - this is completely different to what we were told). Another tech chimed in to agree while dealing with another client. It felt less like a salon and more like being ganged up on.
After an hour of being ignored, pressured, and spoken to rudely, we calmly stood up and said we wanted to end the appointment due to the poor service. At this point, I only had the plastic tips glued on, and my friend had acrylic applied - but nothing else.
To make matters worse, they demanded my friend pay full price for her unfinished nails. Only after pushback and visible frustration did they start backpedaling - reducing the price in stages to £15. Out of principle, my friend left £10 and we walked out.
A lovely woman who had been sat nearby with her baby actually followed us down the road to check we were okay and told us she’d experienced something similar - which honestly says a lot. Later that day, we went to Manhatten Nails, where the staff were professional and welcoming (as always). There, we met another customer who had just left Ming early due to her own negative experience. The shared feeling between us all was simple: we should never go back.
Please don’t waste your time or money here. I’ve visited nail salons all over the country and have never encountered service this poor. There are far better places in Tunbridge Wells that actually respect their clients. I’ll be making sure everyone I know avoids Ming Nails and Beauty entirely.
Sorry for your bad experience with us, as that day was too busy, also when busy time we normally don’t do normal polish as it take too long to dry and when I came to your friend, I just mentioned that normally not last longer, if your friend say is fine, so I will carry on, but she and you decide to leave, so that is why we couldn’t be helpful more, sorry anyway, have a nice day.
This was my first time visiting, I would DEFINITELY recommend. I was on a very tight schedule and so I asked to do it quickly and they did! It was even better than I could have imagined, pricey, but TOTALLY worth it!!
Thank you so much dear, very appreciated ❤️❤️❤️
