I wish I could give a good review because the nails here do last a long time (I’ll give them that) but everything about their customer service is simply awful. I went in for a manicure and pedicure set, at the end of which they charged me £65!!!!! I was outraged I’ve had nails done in central london for less.
When I asked why they said it was because I paid with card. I asked how much if I paid cash and it was only £45. Charging your customers an extra £20 is absolutely ridiculous and I was so annoyed. It’s a joke. It’s not legal especially when the advertised price is 45. I will absolutely not be returning to this place and I wouldn’t recommend you do either!!!! I have found a new nail place with fantastic customer service, better nails and that don’t uplift if you have to pay card (and I suggest you do too)

🚨 Warning to anyone thinking of going to SJ Nails 🚨

I went there with my friend for a full set of acrylics with gel. Everything seemed fine until it was time to pay. They told me price was £55 and it would cost £10 extra just to use my card. I asked to see the price list, and it clearly showed card price £42 for acrylics with gel. I paid that full amount by card.

When I politely said that my friends who come here all the time have never been charged extra, the woman suddenly started shouting at me. I calmly explained that I’m heavily pregnant and high risk, and that I didn’t want to be shouted at — but she kept screaming, even calling me disgusting names.

Even after both mine and my friend’s bills were fully paid, she locked the door, stood in front of it, and refused to let us leave. I was terrified — trapped in a shop, being screamed at while pregnant. I had to call the police to get out. As soon as they arrived, she sat behind her desk like nothing had happened.

I’m honestly still in shock and can’t believe how badly we were treated. I just want to warn others — especially young girls or anyone vulnerable — please be careful. No one deserves to be shouted at, overcharged, or locked inside a shop after paying.

The owner is extremely rude and unprofessional. On top of that, they add extra charges for every little thing without being upfront about it. The whole experience felt uncomfortable and not worth the money. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this salon.

Love Sj nails , like anywhere they have bad days run over on time and you need to wait (your receptionist at the GP you always call back to get a GP appointment, or the takeaway that misses an item you’ll call back) it’s worth the wait honestly. My nails have never been so strong and looked so good and I’ve been to a couple of the high street and they’ve never lasted at Sj nails they last until my infills that could be 3 weeks if needed supper long they ain’t going anywhere.
