It was my second time at the salon. The technician/owner doesn't focus on the customer. Plus, the prices are not accurate compared to the website and the loyalty card. My first time was three weeks ago.
Awful place. They don’t treat their customers with an ounce of respect or courtesy. I will NOT be returning
TO ADD TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW
I ALSO FORGOT TO MENTION I GOT A FUNGAL INFECTION AFTER THAT DAY AND MY NAIL TURNED GREEN
ALSO AS YOU MENTIONED YOU GUYS PREVIOUSLY KNEW ABOUT MY NAIL GLUE ALLERGY SO WHAT WAS TO BE SAID IF YOU KNOW WHO IM ALREADY?
Absolutely disgusting and the worst part is your disgusting reply to my previous review. Instead of apologising you’re arguing with me
I had a very bad experience during my visit, as I contracted a severe nail infection afterwards, not recommended awful experience
If you like rude people and terrible customer service then this is the place for you!
My friend took me to this place and is a regular. Highly recommended. We both got pedicures. I noticed that my friend got a much longer treatment and more attention that I did. Mine seemed a bit rushed. My friend had a different lady named Nee and I had an employee named Ann. My friend got a foot massage, calf tapping, and more of a scrub. Just seemed like mine was a bit more rushed. Other than that, In terms of the actual pedicure it was well done.
Terrible experience — and it was the owner!
I had the worst experience at SJ Nails. Shockingly, the person who treated me so rudely was the owner herself. She didn’t even give me time to choose a nail color and acted like my presence was an inconvenience. When I tried to explain my preferences, she completely disregarded them and was outright disrespectful. If this is how the owner treats customers, I can’t imagine how the rest of the staff behaves. Absolutely unacceptable — I will never return and do not recommend this salon to anyone who expects basic courtesy and professionalism.
Absolutely appalling experience — avoid at all costs.
My wife had a pre-booked appointment at SJ Nail Salon in Borehamwood for a simple nail painting and pedicure. Instead of receiving the service she booked and paid for, she was rudely confronted by the owner the moment she walked in. The woman was aggressive, dismissive, and outrageously arrogant — berating my wife for not having pre-selected a nail colour, something we were never informed was required.
Worse still, the owner’s behaviour bordered on outright racism — her tone and attitude were clearly discriminatory and completely unacceptable. She refused to carry out the full pedicure, and made my wife feel unwelcome and humiliated. We had no choice but to leave and take our business to another salon that knows how to treat customers with basic respect.
There is absolutely no excuse for the way we were treated. If you’re looking for professionalism, courtesy, or even the most minimal level of customer service — DO NOT GO HERE.

Absolutely appalling experience — avoid this place at all costs.
I walked into SJ Nail Salon in Borehamwood today expecting a simple pedicure and nail color , but was instead met with shocking rudeness and unprofessionalism. The woman working there immediately chastised me for not having pre-selected a nail color — something no other salon has ever required or made an issue of. Her tone was dismissive, arrogant, and frankly, downright disrespectful.
What made the situation worse was the unmistakable air of racism in her behavior. She flat-out refused to do my pedicure, showing zero courtesy or customer service. I was made to feel unwelcome and humiliated for absolutely no reason. I ended up having to leave and find another salon — where I was treated with the respect every paying customer deserves.
If you value kindness, professionalism, and basic human decency, do not go here. This was hands down the worst salon experience I’ve ever had.
Is my second time doing my nails here but for sure last time. First, the youngest lady who works there start to file my nail with electric file and she was talking to her colleagues not paying to much attention on what she was doing and i said to her 2 times that she’s burning my nail and she was laughing. Second, they charge different price every time and they charge extra for paying card but they didn’t do this first time and they didn’t charge extra the lady who paid before me. I think they should let us know before about the extra charge. I notice they have loyalty card but they didn’t mention anything to me. Again I don’t think is nice you just offer to some clients not all of them. I’m sorry I didn’t read reviews before aparently they are not very good. Too bad because I live close and I was planning to do mani and pedicures on regular but for me is a big NO
You allowed me to make an appointment for Sunday 9th February as you were going to start opening Sundays. Amy pencilled myself and my mum into the diary for this day. We both turned up for our appointment along with another client only to find that you weren’t open. I am Annoyed that you took my booking and failed to open like you said you would. I wasted my morning & petrol money on travelling there. Then when I phoned you on Monday 10th February to make my complaint (who ever answered the phone had the audacity to hang up on me) not happy 😡
