I don’t often get my nails done because I’m very picky about both perfection in artwork and gentleness during the service, but I needed a little pick-me-up during my lunch break yesterday. I decided to take a chance and walk into Star Nails, Sunderland, asking for a price to do some Halloween-themed nails.

I was instantly offered a very reasonable price and, while still hesitant, decided to give it a go — and I’m so glad I did! Tao was incredibly gentle (I actually caught myself nodding off at least three times during the service!) and his attention to detail absolutely blew me away. The precision and definition in his work are unreal — honestly, his hands are so steady he could probably be a surgeon!

I’m over the moon with how my nails turned out, the price, and the whole experience overall. Thank you so much, Tao! I’ll definitely be asking for you next time I’m in. 💅🎃

So expensive. They didn’t make me aware that length=more money and also burned underneath my nail with the nail drill. My nails were getting far too hot under the lamp while it was drying with acrylic, when I moved my hand away and told her it was burning she snatched my hand and put it back under the lamp. My altogether cost was £39 and they couldn’t even do a top coat correctly. They left glue marks on my nails and also left gel underneath my nails. Very thin layer of acrylic I feel like I have stick on nails and one of them is bent. Wouldnt reccomend this salon at all

Follow up review: 8 have survived so far. 2 fell off in the first week, the application process was only primer, no dehydrator. I have never had my nail beds in this much pain, I had to go to the doctors due to how bad it was hurting, I have nothing against this nail place. However this is the last time I’m coming here…not only is it the wrong application process, even the design is wonky and all different shapes…thank you but I will not be coming back

The best nail shop in Sunderland. I have been coming here for a very long time. The staff are welcoming and professional. I would never go anywhere else. Sunny is the best. She is very pleasant and respectable.

Absolutely horrendous.. did not prep nails how they should have been they basically just wanted me in and out. Paid £23 for gels and they were pealing of within a week.

If you’re a person of color do not go here to get any service done or even at their other breach called HTnails & Spa professional nail care.
If I could give them a zero star I would because this is the second time they’re treating me awfully in both place, they go as far as increasing the prices of services for you just because you’re a Person of Color.
STAY AWAY FROM BOTH STORES.
Don’t say I did not warn you.
