I had such a lovely experience here and honestly couldn’t be happier with my manicure and pedicure.
From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel genuinely welcome. The team were warm, professional, and clearly very experienced at what they do. They took real care, paid attention to every little detail, and never made me feel rushed.
You can tell when people truly take pride in their craft, and that definitely came through today. My nails look absolutely beautiful, and I left feeling polished, relaxed, and very well looked after.
Wonderful service, genuine expertise, and just genuinely lovely people. I’ll definitely be back.
Highly recommended. ✨
I love this place. I've been coming here for a little longer now, and they do it with care and love.
If you enjoy a friendly nail experience I would avoid this salon. Only when I was in the chair did they tell me they didn’t have the colour I wanted. I tried to reiterate the nail design I was looking for (with a picture to show) multiple times but they did not listen to me. It felt like they just wanted me out of the door as there were people waiting to be sat down. Will sadly be avoiding in future.
Worst customer service ever! The most horrible man (sits by the window) I’ve ever come across in a nail shop. I asked for very specific nails; French tip set with two designs. From the very beginning I told him one of the tips were stuck on wonky, he told me no and to wait. Long story short, with all the speaking up, I still left the shop unhappy. Came back the next day, as I was leaving for holiday the day after, and told him I was really not happy. He started shouting and said he can’t fix them and there’s nothing wrong with them. I told him I can see all the mistakes as I do nails myself, so he told me to go fix them myself. The worst customer service ever, I’ve never been treated like this before. Paid £50 for them and never again.
However I went over to La Rose nails and they fixed them for me. The lady was so sweet and she actually pointed out all the mistakes herself. If you are considering this place, please go over to La Rose nails xx
I’m very disappointed with my recent visit to Lux Nail Bar. I’ve actually been coming here for years since they first opened, which makes this experience even more upsetting. Shortly after my appointment, I noticed changes in my nail that are consistent with a possible fungal infection as something I have not experienced before as i have been going here since they first opened. I had to remove my nails my self as they were hurting me especially after getting them done the guy who did my nails made me bleed a lot. And then two days later the nail snapped off after i payed £40 for nails this SHOULD NOT HAPPEN. This has raised concerns for me about hygiene and sterilisation practices. Proper sanitation of tools and equipment is essential in any nail salon, and I would have expected a higher standard of care. I’ve attached a photo to show the current condition of my nail so others can make their own informed decision. Based on my experience, I would be cautious about returning. I had to remove the acrylics my self to let my nails heal. Other then that they do nice nails.
I was a loyal customer here for years but sadly the service has gone downhill. There’s no incentive to stay loyal when staff are rude, unhelpful and make you feel uncomfortable for simply asking questions or making specific requests. It’s just not worth the high prices anymore. Such a shame as St James is really lacking a good salon now.
This place lacks good communication with costumers. The man who’s the owner is extremely rude and is always embarrassing people in front of other and they’re kids unfriendly.
Once I was told to go and come back just because I have my child in the pushchair even though the place was almost empty. I questioned the decision and they kick me out saying no one will do my nails.
I don’t recommend this place to anyone!!!
I have been coming here for years now to get my manicures and pedicures and honestly they do it well. The pricing has been reasonable up until recently, they started overcharging me and it’s higher each time i go. If the prices have gone up the price list should at least be updated ? They pack the whole shop to the brim with no proper queuing system in place - tickets should be given out to ensure people are going in the correct order. Service has honestly gone downhill and they don’t seem to care enough to keep the regular loyal customers.
The only place I go to get my nails and pedicure done.
A spontaneous pop in to get my nails done following an interview just over the road. I have never been to this area before. It was the best decision, as my nails are perfect! I cant stop looking at them. Done by a lovely young guy who paid attention to detail. So happy! Had to share! Just wish I wasn't an hour and a half away out of London! Otherwise these would be my nail peeps!
Avoid this place at all costs!!
The staff are extremely condescending, rude, lazy, lack patience and will not hesitate to embarrass you in front of the entire shop unwarranted!
Regular customers are not appreciated, all these people care about is filling their shop to the brim and rushing through customers as fast as possible - they’re just money hungry and could care less about how your nails turn out
If they are gonna to fill people into the shop like a tin of sardines, they need to use their common sense and operate a ticket system, so everyone is seen in a fair and timely fashion - the shop is not big enough for the customers they continue to cram inside
Their work has become significantly poor and rushed over the years and I don’t know if there’s been a change in management, but the staff have developed a seriously poor and off putting attitude and work ethic in recent months!
If you don’t want poorly done nails and you don’t want to be publicly shamed and embarrassed in front of the whole shop for ensuring you choose the right colour for your nails, then do yourself a favour and avoid this circus of an establishment - there are plenty more nail businesses far worthy of our time and most importantly our money
Have been coming here for 5 years. Over the past year they’ve become money hungry and straight up greedy. The moment they realise you’re nice they will try yelling at you for minor alterations or if you request a specific person. If you irritate them in any way they will change the price of your nails. One man in particular with the worst attitude I’ve ever seen. I go regularly every 3 weeks and almost every visit this man is berating a customer. Had told my friend she can’t get her nails done because she has a child ? Have asked for my REGULAR pedicure man (who is amazing) and been told “don’t even open your mouth”. Honestly can go do one. Lost a loyal customer for good now.
