I came in, on the 31/03/26, I had called to book an appointment slot for French tips at 10am; being their first client of the day. I was seen straight away as normal however I left 2.5 hours later. Simply because halfway through the appointment, one of the ladies doing my nails left to do other customers’ nails. I was made to wait an hour in the chair with my nails half done. Other customers who hadn’t even booked beforehand were prioritised over myself. I was always a loyal customer and I never give any of these lovely ladies a hard time but it was simply unacceptable and disrespectful to have me sit by myself for an hour waiting for one of them to continue my nails.

Zero stars if that were possible!

I visited Vanessa's Nails in North West London for a very basic service. Just natural nail polish on hands and feet. No nail art, no gels, nothing complicated.

The technician was extremely rude and snappy throughout. She applied three coats and then made me sit there for around 35 minutes to dry. As soon as I stood up, the polish immediately smudged on multiple nails. Clearly, it was not dry.

She tried to “fix” it, but I had an important event to attend and could not sit there indefinitely. When I got home, the polish was completely ruined. I ended up removing everything myself. I paid for a service and left with nothing usable.

When I called to request a refund, the woman on the phone was just as rude and dismissive. I was told refunds are non-refundable, that it was my fault for not being careful, and that I should have waited up to an hour for polish to dry. That was never communicated during the appointment.

The attitude was shocking. No accountability, no apology, no attempt to resolve the issue.

On top of that, they only accept cash or bank transfer, which makes it impossible to dispute a poor service. That alone should be a red flag.

There are many nail salons within a few minutes’ walk in the Edgware area. I strongly recommend going elsewhere. This experience wasted my time, my money, and caused unnecessary stress before two important events.

I genuinely wish I had never gone here.

I've been going to Vanessa’s Nail Shop in Edgware for a while, and they consistently do a fantastic job. The quality is always excellent, and I really appreciate that they never rush their customers to fit in the next appointment. The staff are all incredibly professional and polite and provide excellent service every time. Highly, highly recommend!"

Girls with the tattoos did my nails. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. The nail tech had a terrible attitude from the start – rude, dismissive, and clearly not interested in listening to anything I asked for. She kept leaving in the middle of doing my nails to attend to other clients, making me sit and wait for long stretches like my time didn’t matter. When I politely tried to speak up, she snapped back with more attitude like I was the problem. On top of all that, the shape of my toenails is completely uneven and sloppy. Zero attention to detail, zero professionalism. Absolutely unacceptable. I left frustrated and extremely disappointed. Never going back.

I’ve been coming here for years and they only get better and better - any design I show can be done even better than the inspiration pictures. The girls are so nice and professional and extremely detailed with their work, I would recommend to everyone!
