I don’t usually leave reviews but I was disappointed in the service at Julie’s Nails. I waited 40 minutes, and they served a customer that came in after me first. I had 2 people do my nails, and I had to tell them both they were hurting me and cutting my skin but they continued to be aggressive. At the end, my paint on my nails started to bleed so I told the women and she called the man over - they told me that this just happens sometimes, so I asked if they could redo it, and they said no.

They took £10 off the final bill, but I still paid £38, way too much for the service received (an infill)

ZERO STAR IF POSSIBLE -
Upon arrival both staff (a man & woman) did not greet me. The weather was really hot on this day & the shop was quite stuffy (it would have been helpful if they had a fan working or the door open to allow some fresh air). I only done my nails in this shop (as my main shop was really busy) and I just needed a simple infill.

The man doing my nails was very rude, and using slight taps on my hand rather than communicating that I needed to wash my hands or put it under the dryer. He seemed to rush through the process (even though there was no one else in the shop waiting).

From other reviews it’s clear that as the owner is not around the customer service is falling short. I really would not recommend as I did not feel welcomed or respected (as the man spoke to other clients waiting after myself & was polite with them) I’m a black woman so this was uncomfortable & a shame to witness & experience in 2025.

I left the shop in serious disgust, and will never recommend or advise any woman to step foot in there - unless you enjoy bad customer service & unwelcoming environment.

I have been here a few times and had rated it 4 stars before but sadly I'm having to change my review based on my most recent experiences.
I think only each staff member has a different skill set as you are passed from person to person while they watch each other work.
I asked for natural rounded short nails and the technician insisted on square. I was quite clear what I wanted. After asking 3 times to make round the corners and the tech doing one or two strokes of the file for each nail, not rounding it out at all, I decided to just go with it, and file them myself at home. Not the kind of service I expect when I am communicating clearly.
One of the other staff members spent my whole appointment time with their phone propped up on a shelf on facetime to someone, chatting with headphones in and I could see I was in the background of the call which made me quite uncomfortable, especially as he kept turning around, looking at me and speaking in another language.
In the same vein, during my most recent visits, it seems only one of the staff can speak English, so they are constantly translating and it can make it hard to communicate what you want. I have no issue with people speaking their own language together but it can make for an uncomfortable experience when they're looking at you, laughing a bit and rarely talking to you, if at all.
When I have seen Julie in the past I have always found her lovely. However the last few times I have been in have been all men, speaking to one another in a language I do not understand, and not providing the service I'm asking for.
I have gone back a few times in hopes it'll be like what it used to be, but leaving with nails I had to fix myself at home was my final straw.
I would hate to see this place go out of business as Julie herself is delightful, but the service is so hit or miss, and I've had more misses recently.

I got the worst manicure here. During the process, the UV light kept burning my skin and nails and the pain was unbearable. The manicurist kept telling me it's normal (this is the first time this has happened to me). The end result: messy and unprofessional looking. As you can see in the pictures, the paint was blotchy and chipped. The nails had gaps between my cuticles making them look like I got it done weeks ago. The edges looked crusty and messy. The nails didn't last long and I wont be returning.

I went in to the shop, to get a little tidy up pedicure , the person who done the service spoke no English he didn't understand anything I had asked for, his colleagues explained to him however, nothing was taken into consideration, he soaks my feet into cold water, took the colour off then files only the big toe nails, I asked him to clean under the toe nails only done the big toe again. All equipment used was not sterilized very concerning! No buffing off the feet or other treatment was done, I then asked for just a top coat. I had to tell a nail tech how to do his job....when I went pay they charged me £25 for a pedicure!!! Sorry what pedicure did I have???, soaking my feet in cold water taking of the paint that was previous done then said they gave me a pedicure I had to tell the nail tech to clean under the nails, then for them to tell they gave me a full pedicure... Never seen anything like this. I been having my nails done for so long I know the process and for these people to look at me and lie to me. The entire process of the service should have costed £12 - £15. So so so disappointed with people like this left with no words never again... Waste of time and money.

Very disappointed. No massage with my pedicure. I had normal nail colour done on my toes and I asked if i should wear my flip flops, they said it was dry and could wear my trainers. I did this and got home to smudged nails. They used different shade of red nail colour on my hands and feet and didn’t warm me they wouldn’t be the same.

Not happy at all. Won’t be going back

I’ve been here recently to get my nails done. While it’s clear that the nail artists are genuinely really good at doing nails, I think that they struggled a bit with the design I had chosen. It doesn’t really look anything like I wanted, but regardless it looks really cute so I don’t mind. I just wish that they had spoken up earlier about not being sure how to do the design I had chosen so I could maybe suggest another photo. I would recommend this place and I will be going again in the future, but I’ll be a bit more mindful with the design chosen and perhaps communicate more. Thank you so much!

I never right review at all because I respect every costumer service and the effort behind.
I have to say I went to this nail salon because the one I go regular was closed that day and I need my nails done asap for the week.
I’ve never been so uncomfortable in a nail place the lady was doing infill for my acrylic nails I just want it French tip and she could see me that it was hurting me when she was using the machine on me to remove the old nail.
She didn’t really stop I had to tell her that she actually took some of a bit of my skin, I work with chemicals every day so it did hurt for all the week.
They didn’t want to realise the kind of mistake so they just act like nothing happened,I felt misunderstood and I had to tell them what happen just for them to know,I just think people need to understand that there is not need to rush the appointment because things can go worse unless you know what are you doing.
My nails didn’t last longer than 2 days and it was acrylics the color came out after 4 days I just definitely won’t come back.
