The staff at Salon XS are friendly and skilled. It has a relaxing and clean atmosphere as well: from the moment you arrive you are made to feel comfortable and welcome! I must say that after my facial my skin felt and looked glowing. When you leave , if it’s your nails beautifully done or an excellent massage, you will feel and look fantastic!!

The positives- The 2 ladies that do the beauty here are lovely this isnt a review about them.
I have used this place for maybe 5 years. I used to use a sunbed 3 or 4 times a week. When I go on holiday I have full leg wax , Brazilian wax ;armpit wax, lash lift and tint plus eye brow wax and tint. I have on 2 of the occasions paid the money long before the treatments as I was in there alot. Yet once John the owner never paid it off on my account and after having my treatment done Natalie went to charge me. (approx £150 give or take) John was there and I said I already paid John when brought another sunbed course a month or so ago. Anyway I was very embarrassed as john said he did not recall this and made me feel a liar. I went into my bank app THANKFULLY I paid by card to prove the transaction(no apology from John) They dont give you customer WiFi either and they are in a bad spot for Internet so I had to go out the building to get the proof.. . I put it down to a bad experience and carried on using the place. Move on to the next year and my next holiday. I booked my appointment in plenty of time and turn up to find out john didn't book my full legs wax only my bikini with other things for my eyes and there was no room for me to have it all done. I had to go back for my waxing 4 hours later not ideal when it is your day off 2 days before a holiday. I don't drive so this was a pain. Again no apology from John. My next holiday same thing happened. On this occasion Natalie has time to do all items booked but had she been full I would of had to come back later AGAIN! Inhad sent a messenger message before hand too as to check so everything was booked in. forward to a few weeks ago I rang up to arrange for eye lash lift and tint plus eye brow wax and tint. John told me I would need to pay a deposit as its for xmas month which is fair enough. I said when i get into town i would come in and pay it would be before December he said that was fine. But since then have decided to have my eyes microbladed so I rang up to let them know my eye brows didn't need doing. The lady who answered im not sure of her name shes been there a year or more and helps on reception. Told me I had to make a payment deposit today. I said im sorry im not paid until friday and have no funds and she said I have to make payment on friday else they will automatically cancelbmy appointment appointment.. My appointment was for the 2nd week in December. I told john I would be downbefore December. I feel the customer service for this company need to be improved. They are rude. Customers are what keep you in business. I have since made an appointment somewhere else and will be using a sunbed place elsewhere when i go again. I feel really disappointed. The girls work so hard too and keep this place going and im pretty sure they are close to the minimum wage. As i said this post isnt a reflection on them.
I work in customer service and I would not make my customers feel silly like the lady did today.

A big thank you to the lovely Natalie , for doing a fantastic job on my nails today. I had manicure and set of gels there was lots of lovely colours to choose from and a lovely friendly atmosphere.would definitely recommend.

I had a spray tan at salon XS for my Hendo as a trial and as it was incredible I went ahead and had one for my wedding. Finding a beauty salon open on a Monday (I got married on a Wednesday) was really difficult but I’m so thankful they were and I was able to book in. As soon as I entered the salon I was greeted with a warm welcoming smile by the receptionist and was quickly booked in. My beauty therapist soon appeared and took me to the treatment room. She explained all the tans and how they work in great deal and we figured out what would work best. Natalie - the beauty therapist - was so professional throughout and made me feel completely comfortable and at ease. The tan looked amazing and lasted really well. I went back for my wedding, again welcomed by the staff warmly who had remembered I was getting married which made me feel even more special, I opted to go slightly darker than before which wasn’t a problem at all. When I tell you it was the best and most natural spray tan I’ve ever had, everyone commented on it and since asked where I had it done. I cannot recommened Salon XS and their staff enough! Best salon experience ever!

The guy behind the till is usually professional and friendly hence the 1 star. (I would rate this salon a 4 if we weren’t treated how we was today). If today was my first experience it would be a 0 and me and my partner would not return, as the woman behind the till has no customer skills. Firstly, I place an empty bottle in the metal bin shaped object by the door. I was told off in front of customer that it wasn’t a bin despite it being filled with rubbish. The woman shouted: “bins around the corner” like we knew this and not sorry are you able to etc. the tone of her was to abrupt and short. This isn’t a huge issue and although embarrassing in a room with other customers I can get over it. We first came in previously and they had no availability so we booked to go back at 2. We were two mins late after coming back for the second time. She put someone else in without even calling us fair enough it’s our fault but the way she spoke to me was beyond rude “sorry you were late Iv given it to someone else it will be a few mins now”. One customer looked at us after and raised her eyebrows as she witnessed how rude she was to us. She advised us it would be a couple of mins so we waited not 15-20 mins it took, I was in my lunch break so would rather she had said the truth so we could have gone elsewhere. There have been numerous times we have had to wait sometimes up to ten minutes despite booking an appointment and never moaned yet the other way she couldn’t show any allowance, or at least say it in a nice way “unfortunately I had to give your bed etc…” our appointment was at 2pm (we arrived at 2 mins passed she was serving someone either way so literally must have put someone in a minute passed or even before 2. Strangely, she was polite with the gentleman in front but seemed to have an issue with us? While I left they were chatting in a tanning bed so probably why she gave him different treatment. We spend a lot of minutes with the salon and use every week as well as buying extras like shots each time. After we have used our minutes we won’t be retuning. Shame as their beds are decent and the man is always polite to us. We use beds every week even in winter, sometimes twice every week in summer. We have always referred people to you as well to be treated poorly - not good. My advice go when the man is in and avoid using the metal shaped bun if you don’t want to be embarrassed
