Honestly so cute, so clean , professional, kind of annoying that the chrome finish was £8 extra when all they did was tap my nail with their finger and smudge it with a sponge, (maybe I'm just mad and broke though) but they turned out great
I was introduced to this nail salon in Guildford by my hairdresser, who always goes there for her manicure and pedicure. Today, I tried a pedicure with two different colours. It was wonderful, and the service was very good.
This salon is ok. I just wanted my shellac removed and it took so long. The first stylist forgot about me and the second stylist didn’t shape my nails properly. I could have done the same job at home so I won’t be coming back here.
Always great experience and service ! Highly recommend, coming back it’s worth every time ❤️
I don’t often leave reviews but I felt I had to come on here and defend this nail salon - after seeing some very appalling, completely inaccurate and borderline racist reviews some other people have left on here that does not reflect reality. This is the best nail salon in Guildford, the owners and their technicians are exceptional at their job, they all work very hard and are very careful and meticulous and my nails always look perfect and last for weeks, still at 3 weeks my nails look perfect and this is my favourite nail salon I will be returning to frequently.
Ben was an amazing nail artist and did a fantastic job on my nails!! 100% would recommend you guys to come here and request for him if possible
It was my first time visiting this salon, and I brought my niece along for her first ever professional nail appointment. We had a pre booked 12:00 appointment and arrived a few minutes early, but we weren’t seen until around 12:20. During that time, several walk ins came in and were told they could be seen but would need to sit and wait, which made me feel as though booked appointments might have been pushed back to accommodate them, especially as we were already waiting past our scheduled time.
When my nails were started, there was no proper prep work done - no cuticle care, no shaping, and only a quick buff with an electric file. I was also seated in a pedicure chair because all the manicure stations were full. Throughout the appointment, staff kept switching between clients, which made the experience feel rushed and disorganised.
The technician who applied my gels still didn’t prep my nails before starting the base coat, and the whole process felt very quick, which led me to change my original design choice because I felt a bit pressured. Unfortunately, the finish isn’t very neat, and some of the gel has already started lifting just one day later. My niece’s nails also have a noticeable “ski‑jump” tilt where the tips angle upward; she is still happy with them, but had the salon been less busy I might have raised this at the time. For £43 and £47 respectively, I would expect thorough prep work and a more careful application.
I also wanted to mention that I was told on Instagram that cash was preferred, which implied that cards were accepted. However, when we arrived, there were cash only signs displayed, meaning we had to wait for someone to bring cash to us.
On a positive note, the staff were very kind in seating my niece next to me when a chair became free, as she was feeling anxious, and she is absolutely thrilled with her nails. As the appointment was a treat for her, I didn’t want to raise concerns at the time. I hope this feedback is helpful, as while our visit felt rushed and unorganised, I appreciate the care given to my niece on her first salon experience and at the end of the day she is happy.
Amazing nails, they were so careful and made them look the best they could ever look
Best Nail studio in Surrey! #Kate did great job! Very happy! Highly recommend nail lounge.
I got my nails done here about 3 weeks ago and had quite a disappointing experience, which is such a shame because the quality looks amazing online.
I booked through social media and was quoted £40 for BIAB and French tip, which I thought was reasonable, so I went ahead with booking. When I sat down, he asked me what I wanted, and I explained. He then clarified that my image was a cat eye French tip, and at no point did he mention that this would incur an extra charge. Additionally, this is not advertised anywhere, so there was absolutely no way I could have known this cost extra. I was very confused when an extra £8 was added at the end of the appointment for cat eye, even though I had already paid the premium for a French tip. If I’d have known this, I would have just picked a sparkly colour. It's not fair to add an unadvertised charge, especially at the end of the appointment when I can no longer change my mind.
I had a discussion with a lady there who said, “They look like the picture,” so essentially, I just had to pay. Firstly, they did not, but I didn’t feel comfortable saying anything, so that is on me. Secondly, she had not seen the picture, so I’m not sure how she knew. I explained that I had only brought £45 cash, and she kept repeating that “they looked like the photo”, so I had to pay, which is fine, but my argument was that I didn’t want to pay a fee that wasn’t advertised, and the “they look like the photo” argument did not address this concern. As for the cash, I did manage to find an extra £3 in coins, but she also offered that I could transfer the rest, which seemed odd, as the girl next to me had finished her appointment 15 minutes into my appointment and had to sit there for the rest of my almost 2-hour appointment until her friend could bring her cash. I felt so bad for the girl, as it was quite tense, and at no point did they offer her to transfer, which felt odd and uncomfortable to me, given that they offered one to one and not the other.
I have also since found an image of the swatch board I could pick from, and my nails were not the colour I chose. I chose U-023, and mine looks like U-021. Generally, the nails themselves are okay. The French tips were a bit wonky and not how I like them, but he cured them before I could say anything, and a few nails do have fluff in the topcoat. Please bear in mind that the photo is just to show the colour, and they have now grown out. Structurally and shape-wise, the nails were pretty; just those few things let them down, and I couldn’t go back as I was on holiday in the days after. I just want to highlight that there may be hidden charges at the end, so be prepared and ask for an upfront cost. I don’t think I will back because of my experience.
I apologize for the misunderstanding. Your nails look beautiful after completion, but you're unhappy with the price for the cat-eye color. The manicurist was certain the image you requested online was cat-eye, so he did exactly that. Unfortunately, he didn't tell you beforehand that we charge an extra £8 for the cat-eye color instead of the regular glitter. We apologize for that. If you're still not satisfied, we can remove the color and redo it; it's quick to fix. Another way we could avoid the extra £8 is to resolve the issue quickly. You can see that the cat-eye nails look more beautiful and sparkly than the regular color. You didn't complain at the time, and then after 3 weeks you complain and give a 1-star rating just because of the £8. And we feel we don't deserve this review from you, however I respect customer feedback. I just hope you understand that our extra £8 for the cat eye is justified, and all our long-time nail clients understand that. We are also confident that the prices we offer at Guilford are quite reasonable, and my clients agree. If you come back, I will return the £8 to make you feel more comfortable.
I have tried a lot of the nail bars in Guildford but now have found the best one ! Clean and friendly and helped grow my nails with biab . Wouldn't go anywhere else x
