On 20/02/2026 I attended Diamond Nails & Spa.
I have been a customer since last year. This post is about my experience with one specific technician.
This was the second time she worked on me. The first time, my acrylic set had visible bumps and lifting between the natural nail and acrylic. I decided not to complain and gave the benefit of the doubt.
During this visit, I clearly requested a pedicure, removal of my acrylics, short square BIAB, and red cat eye polish.
From the moment I sat down, her attitude toward me was cold and impatient.
During the pedicure, she was extremely rough and repeatedly told me I should not touch my cuticles at home. The treatment was so aggressive that I was made to bleed. She justified it by saying it was because I “do my cuticles myself.”
After finishing, she did not remove the dust from my feet. She barely looked at me and said, “it’s done.”
When I clearly stated I wanted to remove the acrylic and switch to BIAB, she insisted multiple times that I should do an infill instead. I calmly repeated my choice several times.
While working on my hands, she pulled my fingers roughly and used the drill aggressively.
I asked for short, square nails something I have worn my entire life. She repeatedly told me she “could not do square” because my natural nails were short. I had to firmly repeat myself before she proceeded.
When I chose red cat eye polish, she stated, “you know that’s an extra £5,” despite me not questioning the price.
During this time, another client seated next to me was greeted warmly, asked about her day, and treated with visible patience and care. The difference in tone and treatment was clear.
As a Black woman, I am very aware of how subtle discrimination can look. I remained calm and respectful throughout. I paid for the service like any other customer.
Professionalism and respect should not change depending on who is sitting in the chair.
This was my experience.

Wow was recommended Diamond Nails by a friend and I’m so happy I’ve found here. The staff are all so lovely and my nails are amazing. It’s only the second time I’ve had acrylics and they are fabulous. Can’t stop looking at them. This is definitely my new go to nail salon and I will be recommending them to everyone. Never coming back, shocked at the change in service.This was horrible, got my nails done looked nothing like the reference photo or length and the tech was rude after I looked and saw the nails were different lengths asked for refund after been showed the design that was nothing like hearts and got attitude after saying so then i got 17 pound back from the 37 paid with getting them then taking them off.

I am so pleased with my butterfly wing nails from Diamond Nails & Spa. The woman who did my nails took such good care and time with them. She also made sure I was pleased throughout the process with what she was doing. She used several different techniques and colours to get them just right. 10/10 service with perfect precision.
