Not only do you get amazing honest treatment and advice, you get a warm welcome, friendly chat and an agony aunt if you need it! I’ve been going to Beauty By Helen for nearly 2 years now and I cannot recommend Helen and Isobel enough!
I have full confidence in Isobel to wax my eyebrows and do a lash lift.
I have recently started waxing with Helen and she always makes me feel at ease especially with a treatments that can be quite nerve racking .

I’m always greeted in a friendly, polite and professional manner but what I love most is they take the time to get to know their clients.
I cannot recommend Beauty By Helen enough!

I arrived at the empty salon 7 minutes late for my appointment.

Immediately, Helen was incredibly rude and short with me and didn’t even greet me with a hello, but a snappy “are you Lydia?” She told me that my appointment had been cancelled and I had been labelled a “no show” just 2 minutes before my arrival.

I apologised and explained that the traffic was terrible and I struggled to find somewhere to park but I hoped they would still be able to fit me in or transfer my appointment to another time/date.

Helen claimed she had tried to ring me but I had no missed calls, and she had left it a whopping 5 minutes before deeming me a no show.
She proceeded to condescendingly say “didn’t you think to ring us?” I explained that as I was driving I couldn’t possibly have rung her. I also wasn’t aware that there was a five minute cut off for late arrival, as it doesn’t seem to be explicitly mentioned anywhere.

I can only assume that Helen jumped at the chance to call me a no show as she knew she would still get full payment and not have to do any work for it.

Im the first person to accept that I did arrive late (though 7 minutes seems to be within the realm of reason to me), and had I been politely told that there was no way I could be accommodated I would have let the issue be, but the rude and obnoxious attitude of the owner immediately threw me off and I don’t think there is any need to be so bad tempered, particularly as she still received full payment.

This was my first time trying this salon and I had driven for over an hour to get there, only to be met with a hostile and rude introduction to “Beauty by Helen.”

I’m glad Helen showed her colours this early on, it will save me the aggravation of trying to use this salon in future as I certainly won’t be returning. I prefer to use a salon run by people with common courtesy and customer service skills.

“Beware If Paying in Advance”I paid the full amount upfront to secure my appointment. Unfortunately, due to heavy traffic, I was 15 minutes late. I apologized and offered to have a reduced, shorter service, but was met with rudeness and unprofessional behavior from the owner. Despite my willingness to compromise, she refused to provide any service and made it clear they’d rather keep my money and do nothing. As the fee was already taken...

Extremely disappointed with the lack of understanding or basic courtesy. If you value customer care and and don't want to be left out of pocket... I would recommend looking elsewhere before booking here.

Braved a first time wax with Helen and I’m so pleased I did immediately she put me at ease and explained the process she was kind thoughtful and professional.

By the end of the treatment Helen felt more like a friend I’d known for years! 🥰

Booked and paid for a one hour session. Received an express, with 4 coats of polish put on without any drying time, and when I asked if I could sit for it to dry before putting my shoes on the girls made sure to have a conversation in front of me about how I'm their last customer of the day and they can go home as soon as I'm gone. Wasted my money on something that was meant to be a special occasion for me. I won't be going back.

Edit: In response to the comment - I have been to Beauty by Helen in Taunton, Somerset, UK, on more than one occasion, and I have email confirmation of this booking. I will not be removing this legitimate review of my experience at this establishment.
