A very rude management team unfortunately
was shopping with my girlfriend when i was followed and stared at because they thought i was stealing, this has happened multiple times in this store before.in addition to this i heard an employee speaking through the headset and saying “he’s not a gangster with those shoes”.
Today I can give 1 star.
Upon entering store, the first isle on the left were 5 staff members loitering. Ivan in seeking specialist dermatology cream and not a single young lady seemed the slightest in touch of their customer service role and blanked me when I asked them for help!
I mean seriously, do they take the role at all into consideration? Shocking
My friends and I recently visited this Superdrug store and unfortunately had a very uncomfortable experience.
As we walked in, we overheard a staff member on the headset say, “There’s four girls who just walked in, keep an eye on them.” From that point onwards, another colleague was clearly watching and following us around the store.
We are all adult university students, and the way we were monitored made us feel singled out and profiled. As women of colour, with two of us wearing hijabs, the situation felt particularly unsettling and unnecessary.
We came in simply to shop, yet spent the entire time feeling watched and unwelcome. It’s disappointing to be made to feel like a suspect for no reason.
Poor treatment of staff by a manager, I believe her name was Sophie, could be witnessed by multiple customers
Really unnecessarily rude and disrespectful Indian girl behind the till. Openly slagged off another customer in front of me whilst scanning my items, then laughed in my face and said ‘nevermind’ when I clicked ‘No’ on the optional charity donation. What’s going on?
Convenient store for affordable beauty products 🩷💄
Staff are quite nice, many decent quality brands like elf, nyx, maybelline for makeup.
Only downside is the customers. This is not Superdrug’s fault so im not taking off a star but you will frequently see young (5-11yrs) old girls not being.. very well behaved
The staff were super helpful!
Terrible service this afternoon. Having waited with several other customers as there was only one person on the checkout, I bought two bottles of shower gel before noticing one of them had a cracked lid. I asked to change it and was questioned whether I had dropped it, before then being told I needed to do an exchange procedure with the manager even though I I just wanted to change it for the same thing.
I left with the damaged goods as I had frankly had enough of being treated so badly.
Went there today with a family member and just went in for a couple products woman at till looked like she didn’t want to be there I get we are near Christmas and it’s busy but I expected better customer service
Found out the lid of a product was broken before we left the store so asked if we could change it out and the woman gave me the most horrible look.
I also want to add I was stood waiting to be served for 10 minutes as there was only one person at the till.
Probably won’t be visiting again as didn’t have a good experience
the girl (blonde) on the first makeup aisle was super helpful with helping me get my perfect shade match. I was super embarrassed about asking for help but she was so friendly and helpful, made me feel super confident and now i have the best new makeup. couldn’t recommend enough
Disappointed with Service and Misinformation at Superdrug, Westgate Shopping Centre
I’ve been a loyal Superdrug customer for many years and have always appreciated being able to use my UNiDAYS discount by showing my student ID along with my Superdrug card. However, my recent experience at the Westgate Shopping Centre branch was disappointing.
I visited to purchase two boxes of paracetamol. When I approached the counter, the lady serving me — who appeared to be a supervisor or manager (wearing a pink jacket) — was engaged in a casual conversation with a colleague. I didn’t mind at first, but when I mentioned that I had my UNiDAYS discount and Superdrug card, she continued chatting and didn’t acknowledge my request. After I repeated myself, she eventually scanned my Superdrug card but told me that the UNiDAYS discount couldn’t be applied to items under £1.
I didn’t make a fuss at the time and completed my purchase. However, after checking the terms and conditions online, I couldn’t find any mention of a restriction on discounts for items costing less than £1. This left me feeling misled and disappointed — not because of the small discount, but because of the lack of honesty and attention to customers.
As someone in a supervisory position, I would expect a higher standard of professionalism and customer care, especially as team members look to such staff as role models. I hope this feedback is taken constructively to ensure better communication and respect towards customers in the future.
