Gel polish got off after a week… not up to standard, bad quality also unfriendly staff
Great service and I was done very quickly considering I needed to go somewhere else right after that. The manicurist gave me good advice about how to take care of my nails.
I’ve been going to Runaya for manicures and fringe cuts for years, and I’ve always been really happy with both their express service and their kindness! It’s so hard to find a good salon that truly matches its prices, so even though I’ve moved out of Oxford, I still make the trip back 💅
I have been going to Runaya Beauty Salon for five years, and I cannot recommend Shita and the team highly enough. They are exceptionally skilled, take real pride in their work, and always make you feel welcome.
Having grown up in London and visited many beauticians over the years, I can honestly say Runaya is the best I have experienced. Even though I now live outside Oxford, I still make the trip at least once a month for my nails, eyelash lift, and eyebrows.
It is a three-hour round trip, but it is always worth it. The quality of the treatments and the care they give their clients are outstanding.
Thank you so much Roxana, we really appreciate you taking your time out to write your experience with us.
This is literally the worst experience I have ever had in my entire life DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I went to ask for a gel polish removal and simple manicure with gel application. Firstly, none of the tools were sanitised. For the removal she literally soaked one hand and then PICKED THE GELL OFF the other hand. I asked her why she was doing this and if we could soak the other hand too but she just told me we didn't have enough time. I cannot even begin to explain how terribly the nails were done. Each was a different shape. the polish went all over the place. the cuticles basically underwent a trauma that they will never recover from. Oh and get this- as the woman was doing my nails she was INTERMITTENTLY CUTTING HER OWN CUTICLES!!!!! are we actually being serious?? This place needs to be shut down yesterday I actually cannot believe places like this can function. Seriously shocking. I don't even know who to report this place to. SO DISGUSTING AND TERRIBLE SHUT IT DOWN NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sheetal is a godsend
Got seen straight away today as a walk in, a nice and chilled atmosphere! And top work with my very short and difficult nails! I’ll be back very happy.
I highly recommend staying away from this place. I had a lash lift done on 22 December and immediately raised concerns as I was leaving, as my left eye clearly hadn’t lifted properly. The salon owner told me it would “lift within 24 hours” and offered no further advice or solution.
After waiting for the Christmas period to pass, I returned to the salon on 9 January because the lash lift hadn’t lasted at all. When I spoke to the owner, she claimed I should have returned within 24 hours — something that was never mentioned to me at the time. She also said that if she had been on shift, she would have advised me differently, despite the fact that she was the one who performed the treatment (confirms she lied to my face, and she was very embarrassed that she was caught lying).
I fully expect the salon to respond and try to shift the blame onto me, but I strongly urge others to stay away. This business is clearly more interested in taking money than providing proper service, and they do not appear qualified to deliver the treatments they offer.
Booked in for some festive nails with my mum and sister last Saturday. The booking process was really easy and we were greeted nicely on arrival. The nail technicians did an amazing job with our nails, but also were absolutely delightful and made us feel at home. We're thrilled with our nails and will absolutely return!
It was ok. Haircut is fine, Price was charged correctly as per the advert. But I arrived half an hour early and asked if I could either change my appointment or else I'd come back, either fine but I'd work to do and didn't want to waste time. They said they'd do it then, but made me wait for half an hour.
Not the cleanest of salons and difficult to communicate what I was after. Won't go back.
Runaya is a tranquil palace of self-care run by beautiful women. I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!
I had my eyebrows threaded and I got cuts/injuries from it - it felt rougher than what I’ve experienced elsewhere. One of these has since developed into what appears to be something like a keloid scar just above my eye, which I've been told it may be permanent. I've had to see a doctor about it.
I’ve been getting my eyebrows threaded for many years at different places, and this is the first time I’ve experienced an injury like this. At other salons I’ve visited, they usually use an antiseptic wipe and apply a soothing gel afterward. Here, the area was wiped after threading but I’m not sure whether the wipe was antiseptic or not (and no soothing gel after). I also wasn’t given any aftercare advice or information about how to care for the area afterward (this is what other places have done, even if I was a regular).
I’m sharing this so others are aware of my experience here. I won’t be coming back, but I hope the salon takes this feedback seriously.
