I’ve been going to Star Nails for years and always have a great experience. The staff are so friendly, welcoming, and professional, and my nails always come out looking amazing. I recently had a gel pedicure and a manicure, and both were done perfectly with so much care and attention to detail. Highly recommend if you’re looking for consistently great service and beautiful nails!

This morning i visted this star nails shop for an infill, i found the young girl quite rude and dismissive. She wanted to charge me an extra £5.00 for a what she said was a new colour i had previously. The young girl gave me the impression she did not want my custom so I left and went along the road got the same thing with motifs for £33.00 instead of being charged £40.00.
The manager in charge should have told her off.They have now lost my regular custom,the young girl changes the prices all the time,it's always a lot more than other nail shop charge. I had a wonderful service down the Sandgate Road further.

Amazing salon, so glad I came here when I first moved to Folkstone.

Staff are friendly, professional and always make such a fuss to ensure my experience here is relaxing and stress free.
You can tell they genuinely care about their clients and the quality of their work.

I visited “Star” Nails last week and unfortunately had a very poor experience. The lady I dealt with was dismissive and quite rude from the start. When I asked for a very basic treatment, I was told it was beyond her capabilities….

I later went to Shiny Nails, who were able to do exactly what I asked for with no issue at all.

Even the nail filing at this shop was not done well on previous appointments, leaving my nails crooked and uneven. Overall, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere if you want a professional and competent service.

I have been a loyal customer for 10 years and never had any problems until this month. Went in for infills, two days after I had a cracked nail so went in and they repaired it free of charge. Three days after the repair I had another cracked nail, they repaired that free of charge to (the infills were not done properly and I never usually have problems with broken or cracked nails). Two days after the second repair, I had a nail completely snap off with no force at all. I then had to cut and file them all down myself.
Today I messaged Star Nails to ask if I could have a new full set or infills free of charge because I wasn’t happy with the standard of the work and I was told no.
After the loyalty I’ve shown the shop over the last 10 years and the amount of money I’ve spent in there over those years, I’m shocked.
Now I’m left with nails that are awful to look at and are uncomfortable on my fingers. Now I’m on the hunt for a new nail shop that upholds their standards of work and shows loyalty to their customers!

Very disappointed, do not use this nail shop it’s a waste of money!

The nails here are always done really well , they’re long-lasting, neat, and shaped exactly how you want them if they’re willing to do it. I keep coming back because of the quality of the work.

However, the customer service really lets the place down. On my last visit, I politely asked the technician to shape my refill a certain way, and instead of just doing it or explaining anything, she got up without a word and had someone else take over. It was really awkward, unprofessional, and honestly just rude.

Any time you try to speak up or express a preference, it feels like you’re being dismissed or outright ignored. It’s very much “mean girl” behaviour cold, unwelcoming, and uncomfortable. A bit of basic courtesy would make a huge difference to the experience
