Honestly don’t normally leave bad reviews as I don’t like to bring businesses down but I’m super upset about the service and haircut I received.

I had a haircut booked in with Gagan, prior to my appointment, they rescheduled twice due to how busy they were and only one staff being available. I wasn’t too concerned about this as I was free all day but it is a bit unprofessional and time keeping is important, especially on the occasion that people do have plans arranged for after.

I went in wanting a straight cut on the back and face framing layers. I explicitly told gagan I want small sections cut for the face framing layers and want to keep the density of my hair as well as length. I’ve been growing my hair for years for it get to waist length so this was really important to me.

Unfortunately, she didn’t give me the result I wanted. My hair didn’t look like the inspo picture at all and she made the front layers soo thick and insisted I had to take off a lot of length to have layers I want, this is incorrect because it’s face framing layers NOT full layered hair so she was just giving false information there. The whole appointment was just rushed as she was looking after a lady who had bleach on her hair so I think she was trying to rush through my appointment.

She ended up taking about 4 inches or more off my hair which I am so heartbroken about and the layers at the front are EXTREMELY thick and just not what I wanted. The layers are CHOPPY and not blended, in fact one side of my hair is longer than the other. Watching her cut my hair was actually making me cringe because the technique was terrible and I’ve had haircuts from really good professional hairstylists and you can just tell when someone isn’t so experienced, she was cutting the layers so bluntly and there was no point cutting at all to make it blend nicely.

I am so unhappy with the length taken off, the thickness of the layers and the choppiness of the cut overall. It could’ve been worse but it wasn’t what I wanted and it wasn’t worth the money. They took off £5 from my total which was a bit insulting because I’ll have to grow my hair for another 8 months for it to get back to where it was, I’m trying to see the positives in this but I genuinely can’t. This was my first haircut after a year of growing my hair and I genuinely just feel like I put my trust in people who couldn’t deliver what I wanted. I won’t be returning and the service received was just beyond inadequate, please learn to look at the inspo picture properly rather than glancing and understanding what your client wants before you even begin the cut. Most salons do a good consultation of speaking about what’s wanted and how they can achieve the look, this didn’t exist it was just straight get into the cut and deliver a bad look.

My heart’s broken and I won’t be getting another haircut now for a long time til I find somewhere who can actually listen to me and work with their clients properly. This is constructive criticism, intertwined with the feeling of disappointment. Please take this on for future clients because women value their hair so much, hair takes months and years of dedication to grow and you don’t know what they have to battle to get there, people put their trust in you, you shouldn’t let them down.

My first time visiting house of kharchier. I had my hair done by the lovely christina. I love how she cut my hair. I was very nervous but she explained as she was going along. She was very welcoming. Nice to talk to from start to finish. Took good care of me. I will be coming back again and i will definitely highly recommend..!!!!!
