Last week I went in to get the shellac removed and they told me to come back the next day as they were too busy. I went back the next day and in about 15 minutes the manager asked me to go to their previous shop across the road. I thought they must be working at 2 different places. I had no idea.

When the guy asked me to pay for the removal I said they never asked me to pay for the removal before and why now? They said they were a different business at that address which I didn’t know. I then asked the guy to come with me to the new shop so we could talk to the manager. The manager had already left the shop and was walking towards the other shop to meet the guy. I at that point told the manager that he never asked me to pay for removal before. It was then he, with his hostile look on his face, started shouting at me in front of his customers as by that time we were in the shop.

All other times when I got removal of the shellac I always got non shellac manicure done and they never added on the removal charge. The only time I wasn’t getting anything else done apart from the removal, not only did he send me to their previous shop without telling me that it is a different business now but he was also disrespectful and hostile to me.

I asked him to listen to what I wanted to say and he shouted saying he had no time for me. First of all, he should have told me that he was sending me to the other shop but I would need to pay as it is a different business and that would have been it.

I paid the £10 later into their bank account and I hope the horrid manager passes that £10 onto this other business.

I wouldn’t write here at all but the way I was treated by their manager is totally appalling and no excuse could make his behaviour acceptable whatsoever.

I wish that all other times I had gone to another business instead of this place as I see their true colours now.

To the manager, knowing how defensive you are, I can guess what type of a reply you could write here, I will never spend a minute reading whatever you write if any. There is no excuse to your horrid behaviour in front of your customers. I don’t think you made yourself a favour really!

Pass the £10 that I paid into your account to this other business at the old place.

I am sure there are other places elsewhere where the shop is run by decent and respectable people who know how to treat a customer!

Have been coming here years. Always so welcoming and nothing is ever too much, and I can be picky! Always do the designs I come in with. Would not go anywhere else - my nails always look great with no lifting - Tommy is great 😊

New to this salon. First gels were perfect and lasted 3 weeks. Last week changed colour and one peeled off and another nail cracked. Came to ask them to repair the nail but they insisted I had to change the gels after a week! Didn’t stay as lady quite off I dealt with. Plenty of other salons to give business to. Terrible attitude

Had this BIAB done only a few hours ago! The edges aren’t done properly and the final finish is really uneven! This is the third time I’ve been and the other two times my nails were done quite well!

I haven’t had acrylics for over a year but I wanted to start getting creative again. I’d seen Christina doing some nail art last time I was in Vanessa Nails, so booked in this week, with a design in mind that I didn’t think would come out as gorgeous as they did! Christina wasn’t phased with my request, she was so funny, and these are possibly the prettiest nails I’ve ever had over the years! I can’t wait for the next design! Thank you!

Nails great but I am still to have a perfect or even good pedicure here. My most recent experience was truly awful. The staff rushed a pedicure , hardly any dry skin removal, and hardly massaged my feet and lower leg., I walked out with dry skin on my toes. Shame on the staff as the atmosphere is good, it is very expensive for the quality.

Personally I did not like this nail salon at all. They were unwelcoming, the service was terrible and the quality of the nails is not enough for the amount they charge. I will definitely not be coming back here again this was the worst experience I’ve ever had a nail salon.

I came into vanessas Nails today looking forward to the appointment. I had heard amazing things about the salon, and that gave me high expectations for the experience. However, it was not a welcoming presence and the lady who was doing my nails just got started without looking at the image I had prepared. My exact request was 'please may I have the same as my friend?' (Who I named and pointed out to her.) The lady did my nails but was rushing even though the salon was half empty that day. She scratched me and spayed me with alcohol paint remover which I have found to have given me a huge rash all over my arm. She did not tell me beforehand that my nails were 'too short' for that specific design, and only told me after my nails were finished. My nails are usually short for sporting activities so I suspected that might be an issue however I had backup designs in case that was a problem. The lady had given me a completely different design to what I had asked before, because in her view it was nicer. Trust me, it was not. I was understandably annoyed, then told her that instead of the french tips I didn't have, a stripe of white at the top would do. She started arguing with me for a couple of minutes before she gave them to me, saying that they would look worse because my nails were wonky (because she filed them at an angle.) They looked slightly better (as I thought) but were still completely different from what I had previously wanted. Finally, I was charged an unreasonable amount extra just for a design that I could accomplish at home for free. My friend and I were not pleased by the service quality and certainly shall not be returning.

I'm a nail technician within 13 years of experience but working in health care now. For many years I was doing my own manicure and pedicure. It was a hard decision to give to someone to do my nails today and I'm happy that my technician was Mia ,she was caring, very detailed gave a nice feet and hand massage. My only suggestion is for the salon )) Cutticle nippers were blunt. Thank you Mia, will definitely come back.
