Really disappointing experience at William Nails Rosebery.

I asked for one treatment, but something different and more expensive was done instead. I wasn’t properly informed during the appointment, and due to poor communication and limited English, I was asked to confirm things I didn’t fully understand when three nails were already finished.

I accepted it and paid, but less than 24 hours later my nails started breaking, lifting, and falling apart. The acrylic began crumbling and my natural nails became extremely weak and damaged. One of my nails has even split deeply, almost down to the nail bed, which is painful and very concerning.

I also noticed poor hygiene practices, as the same tools seemed to be used without proper sanitisation between clients.

Overall, I’m really unhappy with the service and the damage done to my nails. I would not recommend this salon.

I’ve been using this salon for over three years. The staff work very hard and I am always happy with the end results! At peak times you can expect to queue, however, booking specific appointment times would be tricky due to the high volume of customers they have. This is no problem as long as you’re prepared and allow time :)

If you have a design in mind, they are always happy to oblige and it works best to take a picture in to show what you’d like.

I often take my mum in for a treat and we both feel welcome and valued by the staff. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

I usually love this place but for a few reasons I think I'm going to have to look elsewhere which is a shame as there's no signs of improvement.

When I first came I got a pedicure and they were lovely pedicures so I kept coming back / eventually started getting my nails done here too.

Initially was impressed with the quality and price so began to get the nails done regularly too. But unfortunately more recently I've had negative experiences and hence I'm going to have to consider other options.

- the booking system is terrible, you wait ATLEAST an hour even with an appointment on a weekend. They are not apologetic about this and it appears to be the norm.

- I recently rang beforehand and said I would be in town in 20 mins / did they have space for me, she said yes. When I got there there was a queue of about 15 people and I got a very icy hello from the lady there basically saying we have no room. I explained I'd rang in advance and walked up especially for the appointment and the chap (mildly friendlier) said to take a seat, I asked how long and they refused to give a time so I cut my losses and left. Not ideal as they could have just told me on the phone theyre too busy and a suitable time. Also not the friendliest welcome which irritated me getting reprimanded infront of a room of people when I'd rang in advance out of courtesy..

- I went elsewhere but unfortunately that experience was crap too 😂.. so I came back to williams nails, again I booked for a 4pm midweek appointment. It was less busy but the appointment was rushed, I waited for the moment she'd asked me what length I wanted but it never came so I left with very long nails. And I remember thinking this felt rushed I bet these break as she didn't do the usual applying BIAB and then using the tool to spread it. Within days I had a significant break far down the nail and 2 more broke. I had to inconvenience myself to come back a week later but I accepted maybe the gel wasnt great from the other place so I'd just do a soak off n redo with short nails and pay for this rather than expecting a repair. I discussed with the lady who runs the WhatsApp for the business, I booked for 1pm Sunday. Although they seem to dodge your efforts to book a time. Got there just after 1 there was a little queue, so I said id get a drink from next door came back 5 mins later then subsequently waited for about an hour before I raised my concerns about the time it was taking to be seen. The response was dismissive so unfortunately I had to be firm and address my frustration in front of a room of people. Please note - sitting people down and asking them to choose a colour doesn't count as getting the process started, if youre going to leave them waiting another 20 mins!

Most who do the nails are great but I found the lady who did the set that broke was rough.

All that to say they really really need a proper booking system. Its really poorly and inefficiently ran and if you havent the nerve to speak up you could genuinely waste hours of your weekend just waiting for your turn, eating into your precious weekend time! Its not acceptable but the trade off for great quality cheaper nails made up for it, but as I said ive even had poor issues with that recently... so whats the point! Might aswell go elsewhere.

I would recommend if you want to be seen to on the time of your appointment dont go here, if youre prepared to wait 1.5 plus hours before youre seated even with an appointment whilst they prioritise walk in's .. and youve got no issues losing that time... fair! But to me my time is valuable so I won't be going back. Maybe I'll try again far in the future and see if theres any improvement but for now its a no from me! I'll be taking my business elsewhere for the foreseeable as I gave them a reasonable amount of visits to redeem themselves and it just didn't happen. So be it!
