I don’t normally write reviews, but for Jo at United Therapies in Pontardawe, it’s well deserved. I first saw her around eight years ago for some stiffness and discomfort, and when those familiar aches recently crept back in, she was the only person who came to mind. There's just no substitute.

Jo's knowledge of the body, movement, and recovery is vast — and that’s putting it lightly. She's not just a sports massage therapist; she's a walking anatomy textbook with magic hands. Every appointment is more than just treatment — it's a full-on experience. She listens, explains, and adjusts techniques to suit exactly what your body needs, often spotting problems you didn't realise were contributing to the issue.

What really sets her apart, though, is her ability to make you feel completely at ease. Conversation with Jo ranges from light-hearted banter to thoughtful insights — and before you know it, an hour has passed and your body feels looser, lighter, and genuinely better.

Pontardawe is lucky to have this kind of talent tucked away. Jo is one of those rare therapists who combines professionalism, deep knowledge, and a warm, approachable style that keeps you coming back. She really is a hidden gem, and if you're in need of proper treatment that actually works, look no further.

Superb service. Booked an appointment after struggling with a few injuries from martial arts training and was met with a friendly and professional service. Jo is also very knowledgeable and gave my body a full m.o.t pointing out other issues I didn't originally mention and tackling everything in the appointment.
I was also given exercises to speed my recovery and also improve my core strength.
Over the moon with the service and will be a customer for life. Thank you Jo!

I cannot recommend & commend United Therapists highly enough!

As a software writer I sit down for a living and a recent extremely heavy workload rendered my left shoulder inoperable. I was in constant pain day & night, attempting to work and popping more pills than a three fingered pharmacist.

Jo told me it wouldn't be quick and not without pain as I was in a really bad shape; figuratively and literally. Begging for treatment every other day, she candidly informed me that after the first session my body would need a week to repair itself; she wasn't wrong. I have never screamed so much in my life! It's with embarrassment that I have no idea what the good people of Herbert Street and beyond thought was going on.

Being in such bad shape Jo needed to unleash armageddon on my poor body. The old adage "no pain no gain" was definitely true in this case and I actually used a wooden splint to bite upon during the 2nd session. After 3 to 4 sessions, "Sadie" as Jo is known to my mobile phone, was getting results. I started to feel the benefit and the symptoms started to relieve. Not only was she getting my left shoulder working again but I felt lighter and had more "VaVaVoom".

Jo's candid, infectious, funny personality is backed up by consummate professionalism earned through years of sports therapy moulding & honing professional boxers. She not only physically puts your body back but also provides holistic dietary advice. I've also recently been attended to by fellow sports therapist and professional boxer Chris Jenkins.

Through the door I entered a contorted pain wracked stranger. I departed, metamorphose, friend.
