I’ve been coming to Elise Hair and Beauty for a while now and the service is always exceptional. Sarah consistently delivers impeccable hair colour she’s incredibly generous with her time, consultations and attention to detail.

Issy is my go-to for treatments and a flawless wash and blow-dry every time.

The whole team is warm, friendly, and really listens to what you want. The results are always beautifully executed, and the atmosphere is welcoming and professional. Highly recommend!

Moving from another country makes it hard to find the right hairdresser again, but I have definitely found that at Elise Hair.

Sarah (the Owner) is incredibly talented with colour, and I have walked out of that salon each time with exactly what I wanted. I love my hair because of her love and care for it.

The rest of the Elise team are also amazing, and I would highly recommend this place.

EDITED TO ADD FOLLOWING RESPONSE BELOW: I am not sure making fun of a child being upset is ever appropriate customer service. I would also note that the litany of excuses given for the bad service speaks for itself. But hey….why let the truth get in the way of a pithy owner response.

Bad service all round! My daughter went there for a hair cut. The stylist could not cut in a straight line and thus my daughter’s waist-length hair was shoulder length by the time she left some two hours later when my wife decided enough was enough. The salon (which is situated on the high street) was completely empty in the afternoon - this should have been perhaps been an indication of what was to come - and there was no one more senior available to speak to. The next day, when my wife rang to speak to the manager / owner etc, again there was no one available and the following week when there was eventually a call back, my wife was told that the CCTV footage would need to be checked to see if the story is corroborated! Needless to say we will never go there again.

We are a well-established salon and pride ourselves on our great service, our Google reviews reflect that. Whilst I have no desire to enter into a tit-for-tat discussion, I do feel that it is grossly unfair that we have not been allowed the opportunity to correct any alleged wrong doing, or defend our reputation.
Your wife and children visited some THREE WEEKS before your review. Your daughter did indeed have a cut by one of our stylists, that is correct, however that is where your perception of events starts to differ from ours.
Firstly, the salon was not “completely empty” as you suggest, there were only 3 staff members on that particular afternoon, and all of them had clients during your family’s visit.
Your daughter’s hair was long, but not exactly waist-length; however, it was very badly matted and that took a long time for our stylist to try to untangle it; your wife even commented that she had been struggling with it for over a month so I would say we did well in the short time that we had.
During the service your wife kept approaching the stylist back and forth, and offering her input, which was intimidating to our stylist, putting her under unnecessary pressure.
Part of the reason why the hair had to be cut to the length it was, was because of how badly matted the hair was.
At the end of the service, your daughter was walking around the salon, flicking her hair, and was heard to say “I love my hair”.
Your wife also left the stylist a tip; this is not something that someone who is unhappy with a service would do.
Your wife was contacted the next day by the owner, who incidentally was not in the salon as she had undergone an operation earlier in the week, apologies for that.
Your wife was informed that we needed to see the haircut to see what the alleged issue was. Your wife refused to bring your daughter in to see us as your daughter had been up all night because she couldn’t sleep and was too traumatised to go to school the next day. That was when it was suggested that the CCTV be checked as it was the only evidence we had to rely on.
So, you can see why I am struggling to understand the devastation and traumatic experience that your daughter suffered; but as the saying goes, why let the truth get in the way of a good story.
I am also sorry that you are choosing to go back to your original salon and I wish you, and them, all the best.
