It had been ages since I last had a floating therapy session, and it was absolutely marvellous. It was completely different from my previous experience at the another shop. The water remained warm throughout, and there was a tube? to rest my neck on, allowing to adjust the muscle tension. Previously, I'd suffered from tension headaches afterwards.

My husband and I booked a float session and a massage. There was a small confusion with our booking at first, but the wellness team was very helpful and quickly resolved everything. The floating session was truly amazing deeply relaxing and a unique experience. The massage was great and relaxing as well.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would definitely come back.

I don't recommend this place. My 75-year-old father was in a hyperbaric chamber. The bed isn't disinfected, and the oxygen masks are worn out. He attended several sessions (because he had to pay upfront and wouldn't get his money back) and never received a new mask; instead, he received a yellowed, worn-out one. You could contract respiratory illnesses or infections. The chamber entrance isn't suitable for the elderly, and it's difficult for an adult to enter.

Visited to try the float tank for the first time, Jill was lovely from entering, felt like I was in the best care. Spotlessly clean with a herbal tea before I left. Had a wonderful experience & will be back.

I went here for a float experience, which was so lovely and relaxing. The staff was so welcoming and friendly, and explained everything well. I arrived slightly early for my appointment but was shown through straightaway. Lovely cup of herbal tea afterwards too. Have given 4 stars only because the room was a little cold, despite the heater being on. This was a little distracting as I had to keep splashing myself to keep warm during my float. But otherwise a super relaxing time!

I was really disappointed with my experience at Ultimate Wellness Portobello. Unfortunately, I was only couple minutes late to my appointment, and despite this, I was refused the treatment altogether. To make things worse, I was still charged in full for a service I never received and was told it would be marked as a “no-show.”

It seemed they were overbooked, which is probably why there was no flexibility at all. As a local wellness shop, I feel they could have shown more understanding, especially since I was late due to the lack of any parking nearby. To add to the frustration, I later received an email from the booking app stating my appointment was marked as a NO-SHOW, which simply wasn’t fair given the circumstances.

A little flexibility and consideration would have gone a long way. Sadly, this experience left me feeling very let down, and definitely I won’t be returning.

Did the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and Flotation Tank. Equipment is top of the range. Facilities are modern and spotless. What a gem in Edinburgh. The best place in Scotland for biohacking. I can't wait to do it again. Alan was very knowledgeable and talked me through everything really well.

I’ve been seeing Hannah at Ultimate Wellness since she moved there when it was still Shimmer and she’s been doing my eyebrows and gel manicures for years! Her and Abby are fantastic at massage as well, and the float tank was great too!

Disappointed with the service at Shimmer. Zero information on website about what to expect at the floatation then turned away for having dyed hair. Extra 15 minutes on the massage chair to compensate which is in a corridor with no sound proofing. No compensation offered. Been completely put off.
