I have been using this nail salon for 13 years, but unfortunately I won’t be returning again.

I’m really disappointed with the level of customer service I’ve received recently. A few months ago, I had my nails done by one of the staff members and they were done very poorly. I went back the following day to raise this, and although they redid my nails, I was charged again. This meant I ended up spending over £100 in just two days, despite the issue not being my fault. When I returned on my next visit and asked about the technician, I was told she had been let go, which clearly suggests I wasn’t the only one unhappy. That alone was very frustrating.

I chose to give the salon the benefit of the doubt and continued going, but my most recent visit has confirmed I won’t be coming back. The owner came across as quite snappy and rude. I don’t know if it was intentional, but it made me feel uncomfortable to the point I had to ask him to stop speaking to me that way.

I also had a pedicure during that visit, which was extremely disappointing. The dead skin on my feet was not properly removed at all, and they didn’t feel smooth afterwards. It felt like a complete waste of money.

On top of that, even when you book an appointment, they never stick to the time. You’re often left waiting for over half an hour, and they will randomly stop doing your nails to go and attend to someone else before coming back to you. It feels very unprofessional and disorganised.

It’s such a shame, as I’ve been a loyal customer for over a decade, but the overall service has clearly gone downhill. It now feels like the focus is more on taking money than providing a good experience. Sadly, after 13 years, I won’t be returning.

Was always happy with the nails here but I stopped coming as I was seen 30+ mins past my booked appointment multiple times in a row. No one apologises or tells you how long it’ll be, you just have to wait around until they’re ready. So if you have a busy schedule or making plans after your appointment, be warned that you likely won’t be seen at the time you booked esp if it’s a popular time (after work / weekend). The atmosphere can also be quite chaotic and loud at times which personally I don’t enjoy when getting my nails done compared to a calmer more relaxing vibe. All together it meant I was often leaving the salon feeling more stressed than when I went in!

Amazing service! I’ve been coming to Bloomington Nails for nearly two years now and I was never disappointed. Very friendly, always happy to do any designs requested, great attention to details. I usually have BIAB , but also had gel extensions dive for holiday. Highly recommend!

I’ve thought carefully before writing this review, but I feel it’s important to share my experience so others can make informed decisions.

I attended this salon regularly for BIAB and infills over several months. During that time, there were multiple occasions where issues with application and nail condition were either overlooked or dismissed. At one point, BIAB was applied over a visibly cracked natural nail after I specifically raised a concern about it. I was told it would be “fine,” but the nail later broke underneath the product.

Over time, my natural nails became increasingly weak and sensitive. Despite this, no technician ever suggested pausing treatments, reducing product, or reassessing nail health. After eventual removal, my nails were left extremely thin, flimsy, and hypersensitive, requiring me to cut them very short and begin a long recovery process on my own.
I also experienced heat sensitivity during curing, and in at least one application the product did not adhere properly, lifting significantly.

In hindsight, it’s clear that the focus was on completing appointments quickly rather than assessing individual nail condition or offering appropriate advice.
I don’t believe this was malicious, but it did feel rushed and lacking in care. Nail services require technical knowledge and judgement, not just application. I would strongly advise anyone considering BIAB or repeated infills here to ask detailed questions, advocate for their nail health, and not hesitate to pause or refuse a service if something doesn’t feel right.

Unfortunately, I won’t be returning, as I no longer trust that my natural nail health would be prioritised.
