Firstly I must say that all the staff we dealt with on the day were very pleasant and helpful. None of the further comments are a reflection on you. Thank you🙂

My disappointment is related to the facilities, given that we had arrived for a spa day experience. There were only three loungers at the pool area. Luckily for my daughter and myself we were able to secure two of these for the duration. The pool was on the cooler side of warm as were the spa pools.

We took our own robes, towels and foot wear as I thought it was unfair to charge £10 for the hire of robes, bag and footwear and £3.50 per towel and a further refundable £10 for the return of the robe. Accepted that a refundable deposit may be required, but these charges are not acceptable.

There was an aqua fit lesson on at approx 11.30. This was well attended. The instructor was very loud and assertive. This left very little space for swimming for the duration of the lesson. Time to exit for coffee break!

The lunch menu provided to us and requiring us to pre order was very limited , giving less options than that on the menus on the tables.

We have previously enjoyed several spa day experiences, sadly this day was below par. I would suggest this venue is more of a leisure centre than a Spa.

Mr Banatyne, you really need to re-invest some of your profits in to providing more relaxed seating around the pool area, and generally upgrading provisions for those visiting for a Spa day experience.

I am writing this review to hopefully save someone else this same experience and to formally document my profound dissatisfaction regarding my visit to your facility on April 24, 2026. Despite a significant expenditure of £184 for two guests, the experience failed to meet even the most basic standards of hygiene, professional management, and hospitality expected of a premium health club or spa.
The first grievance concerns the deceptive nature of marketing. The online imagery and promotional content depict a serene, high-end spa environment; however, the reality upon arrival was significantly inferior to even a standard public leisure centre. The facility is fundamentally mislabeled as a "spa," as it lacks the necessary maintenance and atmosphere to support such a designation. The presence of mold in the showers and the unhygienic, cold state of the jacuzzi are unacceptable, and the steam room failed to function as relaxing as there were constant banging sounds. This discrepancy between the advertised luxury and the dilapidated, dirty reality constitutes a clear case of misleading advertising.
The facility’s environment was further characterized by severe maintenance failures and poor operational oversight. Upon arrival, we encountered a chaotic atmosphere; the pool area was dominated by an excessively loud aqua-aerobics class, rendering the space unusable for relaxation. And overrun with gym members. The relaxation room lacked the promised sensory experience, featuring sterile office-style tiled ceilings and an absence of aromatherapy or appropriate ambiance. The premises/stairwell were cluttered with construction debris, cardboard, and general mess, which significantly detracted from the environment.
Operational inefficiencies further compounded these issues. We were subjected to an unreasonable £10 charge for a single, undersized towel. The layout of the facility is poorly conceived, requiring guests to traverse stairs repeatedly to obtain refreshments, as drink service is unavailable in the upper areas. Moreover, the requirement to consume lunch in an exposed, glass-walled reception area while wearing robes is entirely inappropriate for a facility marketed as a spa. These grievances are exacerbated by a significant pricing discrepancy: we were charged £184 for a package including lunch, yet internal signage indicated that a day pass excluding lunch is priced at only £56 per person, suggesting a lack of transparency in your billing practices. In theory I had paid £36 for sad ham and cheese toasties and a burnt tasting coffee.
When we attempted to address these concerns with the floor manager within an hour of arrival—requesting a refund before utilizing the facilities or receiving treatments—our request was summarily denied. The manager demonstrated a complete inability to resolve the situation or provide a professional remedy. This experience has been a significant waste of time and resources, and I request an immediate review of this complaint and a formal response.
While the fifty-minute treatment provided was of acceptable quality, it failed to justify the premium price point of nearly £100. When evaluating the cost-to-value ratio, the experience fell short of the standards expected at this price level. In the hospitality and service industry, the perceived value of a service is inextricably linked to the surrounding environment and the holistic nature of the experience, rather than the isolated treatment itself. Do yourself a favor and go to a proper spa such as fairlawns or hoar cross hall as even though they are also a health club they actually have spa facilities and relaxing areas/ambiance and nice lunch options unlike this dump.
