Its taken me a while to review this place as I couldn't compare to any other experience - having visited anther nail bar recently, now I can!
I visited Lux toward the end of last summer. I don't get my nails done often but a lady at work recommended this place for some pretty holiday nails.
I had called previously to book an appointment, the lady told me it was all fine yet took no details from me which I thought was odd. When I arrived for my appointment, there was no appointment & I had to wait in line on a busy Saturday morning.
When it was my turn, I sat with my male nail tech & I explained I was a novice to this. I asked for some recommendations or suggestions to which he just asked me to tell him what I wanted.
All seemed ok until he took an electric file to my natural nails, this alarmed me but I couldn't see the impact until I removed the acrylic a month later. To my horror he had drilled deep grooves into my cuticles leaving them very tender & damaged, it took months for that damage to grow out.
I would not recomend this place to anyone unless you want to risk permanent damage to your natural nails.

I had a lovely experience, offered refreshments, staff were so friendly and these were so reasonable as well as being very efficient too. I will definitely be back again.

Came here for the first time today as I was around visiting. I asked for a jel French tip for my toes. Staff were absolutely amazing and made my experience so much better and comforting. Would really reccomend!! Thank you all 🤍

I came in at 18:30 and they said they would do my acrylic nails even tho they were gonna close at 19:00 they were lovely people and stayed open longer then there closing time to do my nails which are amazing, so much time and effort put into my nails , they also offer a drink every time I go in there and always check throughout getting the nails done to see if they are okay

I asked this guy to redo one nail cuz it wasn’t matching he got mad and became mean he said no its the same i had to ask him again if it matches and he did it again but he was so aggressive this is not a professional work it feels like I got my nails done by a child, it looks horrible

I had such an amazing experience at this salon today! I originally went in thinking I’d just need infills from a set I had done elsewhere 3 weeks ago, but the staff immediately noticed that the previous acrylic was poor quality - thick, heavy, and already flaking. They took the time to properly remove everything and started fresh with a brand new set.

The difference is unbelievable. My new nails are so much lighter, thinner, and look incredibly natural -exactly what I was hoping for.

What really stood out to me was the level of care and attention to detail. The staff were so friendly and attentive from start to finish, offering food and drinks throughout and checking in regularly to make sure I was comfortable. There was no waiting at all, even on a Saturday, which was impressive in itself.

They weren’t rushed at all - everything was done properly and carefully. From tidying cuticles, making sure all the powder was cleaned off (even from my watch and phone!), to ensuring every nail was perfectly matched in length… it’s honestly the best attention to detail I’ve ever experienced at a nail salon.

I genuinely can’t fault a single thing. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend to anyone!
