I am very dissatisfied with my experience at this salon from start to finish.

When I arrived, I asked whether they had availability for a walk-in appointment for nail art, and I was told yes. Once seated, I began showing photo references of the design I wanted. Instead of discussing the design itself, I was handed the polish colour books and asked to choose colours. The original design contained a lot of different shades and was fairly complex, so I felt pressured and ended up finding a simpler design that still had the main feature I wanted — chrome silver nails.

I specifically zoomed in on the chrome section of the reference photo and asked whether they could achieve that look, as I could not see anything similar in the colour books. I was told “yes, that’s chrome,” and after confirming with another staff member, we agreed on the price being £38. Which I had no issue with since i was expecting chrome.

After my nails were filed, I was passed over to another technician. She looked at the reference photo but did not mention any issues or limitations, so I assumed the design could be replicated.

Towards the end of the appointment, I realised there was no chrome being used at all. Instead, a glittery silver polish had been applied, which looked completely different from the reference photo and from what I had specifically requested at the beginning. I asked whether it could be made darker as it did not resemble chrome in any way, and I was simply told, “No, that’s the colour we have.”

This was extremely frustrating considering I had clearly stated from the start that the chrome effect was the main feature I wanted, particularly because I wanted the nails to match my jewellery. The technician then quickly applied the top coat and walked away, leaving me at the counter to pay without any real opportunity to discuss the issue further.

I left the salon extremely upset and genuinely disappointed with the final result. The nails look nothing like the design I asked for, and I feel I have wasted £40.

If the salon knew they were unable to recreate the design or provide chrome nails, this should have been communicated clearly before starting the appointment rather than agreeing to something they could not deliver.
