I recently went to Consett Nails for a soak off and gel pedicure with a foot spa, as well as getting my hand nails done.

I specifically paid for an acrylic soak off on my toes because I wanted to keep the shape and condition of my natural nails before having gel put on. Instead of actually soaking them off properly, the acrylic was drilled down and the remaining bits were literally picked off with fingers, which ended up damaging my natural nails and breaking three of them. I then had to pay extra to have acrylic put back onto the broken nails, even though they broke because of the removal process.

The whole thing was also really uncomfortable. My leg was propped up awkwardly on the nail technician’s knee underneath the nail desk for ages, and I asked three separate times if I could move over to the foot spa chair since I was paying for a foot spa anyway, but I kept getting told “he’ll be done in a second.”

When I finally did move over, the foot spa itself felt rushed and half done. There was no proper scrub, no massage, and overall it just didn’t feel like an actual spa pedicure service.

I’d also asked for my hand nails and toe nails to be the exact same colour, but the toe nails ended up being a much lighter, milkier shade. The design I asked for on my hand nails also didn’t come out properly. The work looked patchy and the colours weren’t what I’d asked for. On top of that, the toe nails are all different lengths and some are shaped diagonally instead of straight.

On the morning of July 26th, I had my toenails done at Consett Nails in Consett, opting for white gel . However, by the 27th, the polish on my right toenail started to rub off while I was showering. Unfortunately, the nail shop was closed on the 27th, and with a 6 a.m flight on the 28th, I wasn’t able to inform them myself. My dad went to the shop to let them know about the issue on the 28th, and they told him to have me come in when I returned from my holiday to sort something out with me. While I was away, I had no choice but to pay once again to have my toenails redone, as I couldn’t walk around with missing polish. Once I got back, I went to the shop, and they agreed to redo my toe nails for free before my next holiday, which was in less than three weeks. But when I showed up for the appointment, they refused to honor the agreement, saying I should have come in earlier to fix them, despite us having already agreed on a time and I had already got them redone on holiday. It felt frustrating, especially since I had already paid to have them fixed while on holiday. I believe this is a fault with the application as it very rushed. They also didn’t other any refund despite explaining calmly and politely.

My daughter sat from 4.30pm til 7pm aged 13 for her nails but older girls took advantage of her age and pushed in. No staff member questioned this....I work in sales myself & make myself aware of who is next in line but these just let it happen & she left the store after 3 hours of not been seen

Wouldn't recommend if your kids are shy as they have no idea who is next in line & she wouldn't shout up she was next
